is one of our battery coordinators and consults. Mr. Myers was an avid enthusiast of music during his childhood, and continued throughout high school where studied under Anthony Robinson at Pittsburg High School in Texas. Donald holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Northwestern State University(NSU) in Natchitoches, Louisiana where he studied exclusively under Mr. Kenneth Green and Mr. Oliver Molina. He is currently continuing his studies in the Master of Music in Performance Degree track at NSU, where he is a graduate assistant and arranger for the Spirit of Northwestern Demon Marching Band. While at NSU, Donald has performed in several ensembles including the marching band and percussion ensemble, and has served as the principal percussionist in the NSU Wind Symphony. Donald has been a technician and private instructor for various high schools in Texas and Louisiana, including Airline High School and Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. He is a member of Texas Music Educators Association, Percussive Arts Society, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
Addison Pellegrino joining us as our front ensemble coordinator. Born in Fort Worth Texas, Addison Pellegrino is a true Texas native that enjoys all things involving percussion. He began his percussion studies with Allen Joanis, Mickey Burmer, Andrew Klein, and James Christian, but is currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Music Education at Northwestern State University under the direction of Oliver Molina and Kenneth Green. Addison has participated with the Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony Orchestra, the NSU Percussion ensemble, and is currently center snare for the SON Marching Band as well as the principal percussionist for the NSU Wind Symphony, Jazz Orchestra, and Jazz Combo. In 2014 he became a member of the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps front ensemble, and in 2016, was a member of the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps snareline. Addison has been a technician and private lesson instructor at various schools throughout Texas and Louisiana including Centennial Highschool (TX), Paris Highschool (TX), Kerr Middle School (TX), Parkway Highschool (LA), and the NSU summer music camps. He is currently a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Percussive Arts Society, Phi Kappa Phi honor society, and is president of the NSU Percussion Society.
We are super excited to announce this addition to our visual staff, Mr. Eric Neeley. Eric has been involved with marching band ever since high school. Now, he is currently marching his fifth year with the Spirit of Northwestern Demon Marching Band, where he has also served as drum major for the past two years. In addition, Eric marched with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps from Denver, Colorado for their 2015 season. Eric has studied dance, competitively, for 10 years at Studio C Dance in Burleson, TX. His studies
included classical ballet, jazz, modern, and hip hop. He has won awards at regional conventions such as LA Danceforce and OKLA. He is also a brother of the Theta Nu chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.
Colby Porter currently resides in East Texas where he has been playing percussion since the age of seven. After graduating high school, Colby went on to study with Mr. Kenneth Green at Northwestern State University where he graduated with a Music Education Degree in 2013. While at Northwestern he performed with various ensembles, including the NSU Percussion Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and NSU Drumline. Colby is in his fourth year as Percussion instructor for Marshall ISD in Marshall, Texas. He is responsible for percussion development from grade 6th through 12th as well as being percussion director/arranger for the Big Red Pride Marching Band. Colby is also the director of Marshall’s first Indoor Percussion Ensemble which competes in the North Texas Colorguard Association Circuit in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. As an active percussionist, Colby has performed in and around East Texas in classical and contemporary venues with regular performances at New Beginnings Baptist Church in Longview, Texas.. He is also an active local adjudicator as well as a member of the Percussive Arts Society, Texas Music Educators Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
In his spare time, Colby enjoys spending time with his loving wife Courtney. He also enjoys playing disc golf and spending time with family and friends.
